Creation of Diaspora’s representation within the RA NA discussed during panel session devoted to “Current Issues and Perspectives of the Armenia-Diaspora Partnership”

On September 20, the 5th Armenia-Diaspora Conference continued with a panel session devoted to “Current Issues and Perspectives of the Armenia-Diaspora Partnership”, which included discussions on further expansion and development of the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora partnership, the national priorities and issues related to consolidation of all Armenians around the issues on the Armenian nation’s security, national goals and interests. Among the speakers were Head of the Lebanon Regional Committee of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party Alexan Keoshkerian; French-Armenian surgeon Hagop Grkasharian; Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Armenian Democratic-Liberal Party (Ramgavar) of Israel Saro Naggashian; Khatchik Der Ghougassian from South America; Artashes Mikayelyan from Moscow; Zohrab Mirzoyan from Samara; Vahram Pirjanian from Canada, Levon Aharonian from Iran, Sebuh Baghdoian from Austria; Arshavir Keshishian from Iran, as well as President of the Union of Armenians of Sochi Hrach Makeyan and others.

Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Armenian Democratic-Liberal Party (Ramgavar) of Israel Saro Naggashian touched upon the issue of pushing Armenian youth forward and providing youth with jobs in Armenia. He mentioned that businessmen and non-governmental organizations can solve youth employment successfully and through combined efforts.

Member of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party of Denmark Dragor Thornbjo and Regional Director of the Castrup Communities Narine Pedersen talked about the need of creating social and economic conditions for citizens of Armenia.

First Vice-President of the World Armenian Congress Aram Sargsyan attached importance to the role of the annual pan-Armenian awards ceremonies organized by the World Armenian Congress and the RA Ministry of Diaspora in the rapprochement between the Homeland and the Diaspora. Aram Sargsyan considered the principle of having all the participants be encouraged as important.

Director of the Military-Medical Academy of Armenia Marat Hovhannisyan mentioned the urgency of including the issue of creating a medical center for freedom fighters in Armenia on the agenda.

All the speakers attached importance to the importance of having a representation of the Diaspora within the RA National Assembly.
