Another protest held in defense of Levon Hayrapetyan in New York
On September 12, the Armenian community of New York held its second protest in defense of benefactor Levon Hayrapetyan.
The demonstrators gathered in front of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in New York were already aware of the humiliating ruling of the Basmann Court of Moscow, according to which the 65-year old benefactor, who is ill, will be detained until the end of this year, reports Sarah Gasparian from New York to “Hayern Aysor”.
The demonstrators expressed indignation with this crude violation of human rights and addressed the Consul of the Russian Federation to send their message to Russia’s corresponding bodies which continue to keep the Armenian benefactor diagnosed with cancer in confinement.
Levon Hayrapetyan’s elder daughter, U.S.-based Yelena Hayrapetyan and other members of the family were also participating in the protest organized by the Armenian community of New York.
The protest was organized by the New York headquarters of the “Freedom to Levon Hayrapetyan” Movement. The organizers of the movement urged all Armenians to continue the struggle for Levon Hayrapetyan’s freedom. The next protest will be held on the days of the UN Summit to be held in New York in September.
