RA Minister of Diaspora receives Armenian American writer Anna Astvatsaturian-Turcotte

On September 5, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Armenian American writer, author of the book Nowhere, a Story of Exile, Anna Astvatsaturian-Turcotte.

The sides discussed the national, cultural and linguistic issues concerning Armenians who settled in different countries, particularly the United States following the pogroms in Baku, as well as issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity and the dissemination and preservation of Armenian culture.

Anna Astvatsaturian’s book is based on her diary.

The book describes the tragedy of the Armenians of Azerbaijan-something that people in the West rarely talk about. Her tragedy is a brilliant example of the sufferings of children who have been subject to ethnic cleansing in all parts of the world.

The presentation of Anna Astvatsaturian-Turcotte’s book Nowhere, a Story of Exile will be held under the initiative of the RA Ministry of Diaspora at 14:00 on September 8.
