On July 29, “Diaspora” summer school participants of the classes of folk song and dance had a meeting with the Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, the head of the Union of National Art of Dancing of Armenia, and the chief dancing-master of “Berd” Dance Ensemble Karen Gevorgyan.

The participants of the workshop on “The past and the future of the art of dancing”, got familiar with the history of the Armenian dance, its foundation and development, as well as with exclusive dance samples, accompanying the Armenian people for centuries and representing the one of the most vivid modes of its self-identification.

The participants asked questions to Karen Gevorgyan related to preservation of the art of dance, its popularization, as well as teaching of the Armenian dance in Diaspora.
