During the 2014 “Ari Tun” Program, Susanna Vardanyan is hosting Olga from Rostov, Russia. In an interview with “Hayern Aysor”, Vardanyan shared her impressions of Olga and told us how they spend their days together…

Susanna Vardanyan is a technology teacher at School N 64 in Vardashen. The school principal suggested that she host a Diaspora Armenian child, and she accepted the offer with pleasure. Vardanyan says she took that step as a human being since she believes it is a brilliant manifestation of kindness and patriotism. Vardanyan adds that it was definitely a pleasure for her to open her doors to Olga, who participated in the “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for the homeland recognition of Diaspora Armenian children and youth. Susanna Vardanyan and her family didn’t have any difficulties with getting to know the girl and establishing close ties with her because Olga is a very straightforward person who always has a smile on her face.

Talking about Olga, Susanna says she is a well-educated and disciplined girl who never causes any trouble. The family even got the impression that she had grown up in their house. When Olga returns from the tours, she sits with the family members at the balcony and tells them how her day was, after which they sit down for dinner. The family always takes Olga’s preferences into consideration when preparing meals. There are mostly Armenian meals so that Olga tastes them and truly feel at home.

Susanna has a large family and a big yard. In the evenings, they sit in the yard, sing and talk about different topics. Based on all this, it’s safe to say that Olga is never bored.

July 18^th is Olga’s birthday. The family is preparing for a grand celebration and will do everything possible to make sure she doesn’t feel sad for not being with her family on that day. The members of the family will make a birthday cake and will treat Olga to Armenian barbecue. Olga won’t know about this because the family has decided to surprise the girl…
