Ambassador Sargsyan presents credentials to U.S. President

On July 14, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America Tigran Sargsyan presented his credentials to U.S. President Barack Obama.

During the official ceremony, Ambassador Sargsyan mentioned that U.S.-Armenia relations stand out in terms of their high level and effective cooperation. The Armenian Ambassador added that both countries have great potential for the development of relations and that his mission will be aimed at enhancing the mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding the scope of partnership.

Greeting Tigran Sargsyan and congratulating him on the start of his diplomatic mission, U.S. President Barack Obama expressed confidence that the newly appointed Ambassador would serve his rich knowledge and experience for the deepening of relations between the two friendly nations.

President Obama stressed that the U.S. attaches importance to the relations with Armenia hinged on mutual respect and interests, activities within the international peacekeeping missions, as well as the cooperation for the strengthening of democracy and economic development.

President Obama also stressed that the U.S. government highly appreciates Armenia’s commitment to reach a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and reinforce security in the South Caucasus.

The interlocutors underlined the fact that the Armenian American community plays an important role in the development of friendly relations between the two countries, reports the RA MFA press service.
