Armenian Prelacy of Germany rejects denier Kelejdaroglu’s request to visit Armenian Church

The Turkish Demokrathaber reports that German-Armenians have refused to meet with the leader of Turkey’s major opposition party Kemal Kelejdaroglu, who is on a visit to Cologne.

Kelejdaroglu, who was on a visit to Germany with the purpose of ensuring votes for the Turkish presidential candidate nominated by his Republican People’s Party, visited the members of the Federation of Alevi Associations, the Greek and Assyrian Churches and expressed the desire to meet with the German-Armenian community as well, but the Armenian Prelacy of Germany rejected his request.

“The Prelacy has rejected Kelejdaroglu’s request to visit the Armenian Church. As long as Kelejdaroglu and the leaders of the Republican People’s Party continue to deny the Armenian Genocide, it would be inappropriate to receive them here,” said the representative of the Armenian Prelacy of Germany.
