Calling on all Armenians around the world
The situation in Aleppo, more specifically New Village has worsened since early June.
The terrorists have dropped and continue to drop missiles on peaceful civilians.
The missiles that were dropped in the Armenian-populated district of New Village took the lives of civilians and caused severe damage, destroying several buildings and leaving others on the verge of collapse. Hundreds of Armenian families were forced to leave their homes. Some left the city and tried to take shelter in Latakia, which is considered a safer place, while others moved in with their relatives residing in other parts of Aleppo and others took shelter inside the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in New Village, without the opportunity of moving to an apartment.
Most of the Armenian structures centralized in New Village also suffered tremendous damage, including three Armenian schools (Karen Jeppe Armenian School, Zavarian School and Sahagian School), three kindergartens (Haigazian Kindergarten, Sahagian Kindergarten, Zavarian Kindergarten), a Catholic school (Zvartnots School), the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, the Holy Trinity Armenian Catholic School, the “Oriental” printing house, the social-medical center of the Syrian-Armenian Relief Cross, the Youth Bookstore, as well as the Kilikia, Oshakan, Nairi, Artsakh and Sis buildings and stores.
The stores and workplaces of the local Armenians were destroyed, partially destroyed, burned and suffered damages of varying degrees.
Currently, several homes have been destroyed, and hundreds of homes need to be renovated.
The hundreds of missiles made from gas tanks killed many and injured dozens of people, some of which still receive treatment at the local hospital.
The once Armenian-populated New Village district is devastated, deserted and in ruins.
We urge all Armenians to help put an end to these missile attacks and ensure the safety of the devastated people.
