Dead body of Armenian found under ruins of building in Aleppo
As a result of the terrorist groups’ shelling in the Armenian New Village neighborhood of Aleppo, again an Armenian was killed. “Armenpress” was informed about this from the News Office of Aleppo. The victim is Andranik Gantarjyan, whose body was found under the ruins of the destroyed building. In New Village, in the result of gas tank falling Manuk Ghazelyan was wounded. Fortunately, his condition is stable. Another Armenian – Hovsep Aramyan, was injured as a result of mortar falling at Jalaa neighborhood. According to the source, Hovsep Aramyan’s condition is stable. Aleppo’s terrible war situation continues. Some areas of New Village are deserted. The inhabitants moved to safer places. Some of the Armenians spent the night in St. Gregory Church’s basement.
In Aleppo from June 1, late at night, to June 2 early in the morning, in the New Village Armenian neighborhood of Aleppo, the missiles made from gas barrels thrown by the terrorist groups inflicted great losses in the district. Following the falling of the rockets two Armenians were injured: Stepan Arushyan and Zareh Ghazarian. Their situation, fortunately, is not troublesome, and they have received appropriate treatment. In addition to the human losses, the Armenian churches and schools of the district, clubs and apartments, offices and shops are also damaged. In particular, Karen Jeppe Armenian College, “Zavaryan” Armenian college, “Sahakyan” Armenian college, St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, National Sis, Cilicia, Artsakh, Nairi, Oshakan buildings and “Arevelk” Publishing House suffered significant damage.
During the three-year conflict in Syria, according to the U.N. data, the death toll has exceeded 150 thousand. The number of the killed Armenians is as many as 100.
