Rita Sargsyan helped turn several children’s cherished dream into a reality

One of the cherished dreams of several children who are beneficiaries of the “Donate Life” Foundation came true with the help of First Lady of the Republic of Armenia Rita Sargsyan, who provided the children with the opportunity to perform with their favorite Armenian singers on the occasion of June 1, which is International Children’s Defense Day. The children performed with Aram MP3, Gor Sujyan, Sofi Mkheyan, Razmik Amyan, Andre, Tata, Arman Hovhannisyan, Silva Hakobyan, Shushan Petrosyan, Arsen Safaryan, Erik, Arsen Grigoryan and many other celebrities.
The children performed both pop and folk songs. “The heroes of our fairy tale today are not just children. They are real heroes who have overcome many difficulties. In spite of that, at the end of the day, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. No illness or tribulation can make a child stop dreaming and setting goals. They really need our support. May the dreams of these children come true,” said host of the event Avet Barseghyan, according to “ArmenPress”.
The event included screenings of short films showing the children’s rehearsals with the famous singers. After their performances, the children shared their cherished dreams and hung ?magical lanterns’ on the ?ship of hope’. Little Mane said she wants to become a nurse to cure all children. Artur hoped Western Armenia would become a part of Armenia again. RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan was smiling throughout the event.
The event ended with a performance of the anthem (We are a Sun Together) of the “Donate Life” Charitable Foundation which is composed by Rita Sargsyan. The RA First Lady and the members of the “Donate Life” Charitable Foundation came up on stage to the sounds of the anthem and bid the participants of the event farewell.
June 1 is International Children’s Defense Day. It is a way of informing everyone, especially parents that children are one of the vulnerable groups of society and demand love, care and attention every day. International Children’s Defense Day was declared during the global conference held for children’s defense in Geneva in 1925. In 1949, the International Alliance of Women passed a decision on declaring a children’s defense day. June 1 was celebrated as International Children’s Defense Day for the first time in 1950. Armenia ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1992, after which it passed the Law “On the Rights of the Child” in 1996. Every year, Armenia holds different kinds of events dedicated to International Children’s Defense Day. June 1 is celebrated in almost all post-Soviet countries. In addition, several European countries and a number of States of the United States have joined the celebrations.
