On the evening of May 26, Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan, with the accompaniment of governor of Gegharkunik province Rafik Grigoryan and Mayor of Gavar Gurgen Martirosyan, visited Hatsarat district of Gavar.
The Deputy Prime Minister met with the residents and listened to their problems of concern. Let us remind that on May 15, Gevorgyan had received the residents of Hatsarat and had promised to visit them and become familiar with their problems on site.
Before the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister had visited the memorial dedicated to those who died in the Artsakh liberation struggle and paid tribute.
During the meeting, the residents mainly complained about the lack of attention of the Gavar municipal authorities toward the district and proposed to grant the district the status of an independent community. They particularly mentioned that the taxes transferred to the budget and the sums allocated for the district from the community budget are disproportionate. The residents also complained about the poor condition of the roads and the local kindergarten.
The Deputy Prime Minister toured the district, visited the kindergarten and was introduced to the building conditions. It was recorded that the building required full renovation.
An agreement was reached on having the residents, as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and the regional council establish a task force that will record all the problems and try to give solutions.
The Deputy Prime Minister also promised that relevant experts would be sent to Gavar to study the budgetary processes on site.
