“Let’s Get to Know Javakhk through its Churches”

On May 21, a painting exhibition entitled “Let’s Get to Know Javakhk through its Churches” was held at the large exhibition hall of the ProvincialStudiesMuseum in Akhalkalak with the support and under the sponsorship of the Vicariate of the General Prelacy of Javakhk.

The exhibition showcased paintings portraying Armenian churches in different corners of Javakhk.

Young painters Arman Torosyan and Hrachya Safaryan presented nearly 30 paintings at the exhibition entitled “Let’s Get to Know Javakhk through its Churches”.

Pastor of the Holy Cross Church of Akhalkalak and the nearby villages, Priest Tatev Marukyan expressed his appreciation and gave his blessing to the gathered. “It’s truly inspiring to see such an exhibition open in Javakhk. This is an unprecedented, wonderful exhibition with a strong message. Javakhk is truly special in terms of its “Armenianness” and ancient churches, and the important thing is for us to know ourselves and our history. It’s really important and a pleasure to see all this expressed through art,” His Holiness said.

Director of the Rafael-Javakh Educational and Cultural Center of Ninotsminda Zhora Snkhchyan expressed confidence that this unprecedented exhibition will be ongoing and serves as a special message to mankind.

The organizer of this unique exhibition was pleasantly surprised to see churches in every corner of Javakhk. “I decided to compile a series of churches and wanted to open a personal exhibition since there had never been an exhibition showcasing churches.”
