Exhibition of the Bible and other manuscripts books of New Julfa, international conference and two book presentations to be held as part of the “Days of New Julfa” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On May 23, the following events will be held as part of the “Days of New Julfa” Program devoted to the Iranian-Armenian community. The events are being held as part of the Community Days in Armenia Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, in association with the Diocesan Council of the Armenian Diocese of Isfahan and Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran in Yerevan.
At 12:00, Vahan Bayburdyan’s book Armenian Community of Iran: Current Issues (Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA) and Hovhannes Zatikyan’s book Karin State in the Mid-19th Century (“Noravank” SEF) published by the order of the RA Ministry of Diaspora will be presented at the RA Ministry of Diaspora (Erebuni Plaza Business Center, 26/1 V. Sargsyan St., RA MD, Room 503).
The event will include welcome speeches by RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia, H.E. Mohammad Reyisi. The authors’ presentations will be followed by speeches by Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA Ruben Safrastyan; Executive Director of “Noravank” Scientific and Educational Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan and others.
At 14:00, the solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition showcasing the Bible and other manuscript books of New Julfa will be held at the Matenadaran (53 Mashtots Avenue). Among the participants of the ceremony will be RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, H. E. Mohammad Reyisi; Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Isfahan, Bishop Babken Charian; President of the Diocesan Council of the Armenian Diocese of Isfahan Noel Minassian; Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran, Archbishop Sepuh Sarkisian and others.
At 15:30, the international conference on “The role of the Holy Savior Church in the life of the Iranian-Armenian community” will be held at the Matenadaran with speeches by Director of the Center for Historical Churches of Iran, architect Sherly Avetian; expert on Iranian culture, large collector of manuscripts Avo Hovhannisian; restorer of frescoes Ani Babaian (USA), as well as senior scientific worker of the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA, candidate of historical sciences Kristine Kostikyan.
