Mitropolit of Helsinki visits Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On Apr. 27, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Mitropolit of Helsinki Ambrosios and those accompanying him, including Doctor of Law Anti Haykinhaymo and Deputy Head of the Union of the Finnish Municipality Timo Kiteveyne. The mitropolit is in Armenia at the invitation of His Holiness.
Welcoming the guests’ visit to the Mother See, His Holiness expressed his appreciation and gave his blessing to them, underlining the importance of the meeting for further strengthening of inter-church relations established between the Armenian Apostolic and the Finnish Orthodox Churches and for the partnership between the two churches.
During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians particularly touched upon the warm relations of the Armenian Church with the Orthodox and Sister Churches, presented the achievements that have been made in the ecumenical sphere, talked about the challenges facing the church and causing harm to the atmosphere of love and urged to overcome all the obstacles and go through all the trials and tribulations with prayers.
In his turn, Mitropolit Ambrosios mentioned that this meeting was of great significance for the Armenian and Finnish Churches in terms of theological dialogue and that it would further contribute to the strengthening of inter-church relations.
The Catholicos of All Armenians and the Mitrpolit of Helsinki fondly recalled their years of study at the Spiritual Academy in Zagorsk.
Director of the Inter-Church Relations Department of the Mother See, Primate of the Artik Diocese, Bishop Hovakim Manukyan also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Mitropolit Ambrosios and those accompanying him participated in a Divine and eternal Liturgy at the Mother Temple.
