Armenian Genocide Commemoration event in Kuwait

On Apr. 23, Armenians of Kuwait held a traditional vigil in the patio of St. Vardanants Armenian Church and a march with candles as part of the events dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, after which the participants moved toward the church hall to take part in a commemoration ceremony.

The commemoration ceremony organized through the combined efforts of all Armenian community organizations included performances of national songs by members of the community’s youth organizations, and a member of the Armenian National Committee of Kuwait addressed the Committee’s efforts for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Addressing the symbol of April 24th, Catholic Vicar of Kuwait and the countries of the Arab Gulf, Supreme Archimandrite Massis Zopuian urged all Armenians to combine their efforts and convey new energy to the hierarchical struggle for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

RA Ambassador to Kuwait Fadey Charchoghlyan underlined the importance of organizing the Armenian Genocide Centennial events in a coordinated manner and through combined efforts and to work harder for international recognition, condemnation and prevention of the Armenian Genocide, reports the RA MFA press office.
