Students lay flowers at Armenian Genocide Memorial in New Julfa

On the morning of April 22, the schoolchildren of the Armenian National Educational Complex’s pre-school and kindergarten and “Armen” Co-Ed Elementary School, with the accompaniment of the school administrators, teachers and parent councils walked from the educational complex with their fists in the air and slogans condemning the Genocide and demanding recognition and reparation and wreaths to the Holy Savior Monastery where they were greeted by member of the Committee for the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Sosseh Poghosian greeted them near the Armenian Genocide Memorial, after which the schoolchildren laid a wreath at the Armenian Genocide Memorial and gave speeches.

The children of the pre-school/kindergarten performed songs, and the program of the elementary school included speeches, a song and poems in Armenian, Persian and English, as well as calls in Armenian and Persian. After the performances, the schoolchildren listened to the message of Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Isfahan, Bishop Babgen Charian and prayed for the souls of the victims of the Armenian Genocide to rest in peace. In the end, they approached the Armenian Genocide Memorial and laid flowers. It should be mentioned that the elementary students participated in the flower-laying ceremony with tricolor ribbons with the words “Struggle”, “Claims”, “Recognition”, “Reparation” and “Our Lands” on them.

It should be mentioned that the students’ speeches and the return with the same enthusiasm and excitement and screams with fists in the air attracted the tourists near the monastery and people passing by the road stretching from the educational complex to the monastery.

The flower-laying ceremony for secondary students will be held on April 23rd.
