Churches in Javakheti celebrated Tsakhkazard (Palm Sunday)
Vicar of the Prelacy of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka, Archimandrite Babgen Salbiyan served a Divine and eternal Liturgy at all active churches in Javakheti on Tsakhkazard (Palm Sunday).
The Liturgy served by Priest Tatev Marukyan at the Holy Cross Armenian Church was followed by the Blessing of Children, after which palm branches were blessed and distributed to the people.
The flow of faithful people of Javakheti to the church was ongoing.
There was spiritual love and warmth underneath the arches of the Holy Cross Armenian Church of Akhalkalak, and the church was full of children and faithful.
The spiritual leader wished the children love, peace, happiness and welfare.
Christians keep the palm branches the whole year until the next Tsakhkazard. The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Tsakhkazard (Palm Sunday) on the Sunday preceding Easter. Palm Sunday symbolizes Christ’s triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians has proclaimed Tsakhkazard as the Day of Blessing Children.
