Ambassador Shoyan’s meetings at the National Assembly of Bulgaria

On Apr. 10, RA Ambassador to Bulgaria Arsen Shoyan had a meeting with President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Mikhail Sikov, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.

During the meeting, the RA Ambassador presented the main priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy and the opportunities for the development of economic relations.

Attaching importance to the role of strengthening inter-parliamentary relations in the development of bilateral relations, the interlocutors touched upon the intensification of the high-level political dialogue between the two countries, as well as the perspectives of deepening of economic relations and the strengthening of cooperation within international organizations.

Touching upon the Bulgarian-Armenian community, Ambassador Shoyan and the speaker of the Bulgarian legislature praised the role of the community comprised of inheritors of survivors of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated 99 years ago in the country’s advancement.

On the same day, at the Parliament of Bulgaria the RA Ambassador met with the 12 deputies of the Bulgarian-Armenian Friendship Group representing all four political parties of the National Assembly of Bulgaria. During the meeting, the sides attached importance to actions that will strengthen the economic relations, as well as further deepening and expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation through direct contacts between the friendship groups.

The group’s leader Atanas Zafirov expressed the group’s concern about the attack on Syria’s Armenian-populated city of Kessab.
