On Apr. 9, a charity event devoted to the Armenians of Kessab and their problems was held with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Kingdom of Belgium and all community organizations at the “Armenian Home” in Brussels.

The event began with opening remarks by Vicar of Benelux of the Patriarchal Delegate of Western Europe, Archimandrite Zatik Avetikian, after which the speakers presented the history of the Armenian community of Syria and particularly the history of the Armenians of Kessab.

During the event, there was a live connection with Director of Beirut’s Radio Van Avo Gidanian and Kessab refugee Garo Sevan Manjigian. The latter talked about the problems and needs of the Armenians of Kessab and praised the moral and financial support of all Armenians around the world.

The event ended with a fundraiser to help the Armenians of Kessab, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
