During the recent elections for local government bodies in Almelo, Holland, member of the Socialist Party (SP) Robin Hayk Geliji, son of chairman of the board of the Armenian Apostolic Church Onnik Geliji, won in Almelo and became a member of the city’s council of elders.

This victory in the city with an Armenian population of nearly 8-10% will provide the opportunity for the strengthening of relations between the two nations and will give the local Armenians the chance to raise thier issues in the city council.

Robin Hayk, 23, is a promising political figure and an individual entrepreneur.
