Delegation sent by Catholicos Aram I to Latakia on Sunday morning returns to Antilias

The delegation of cenobites that Catholicos Aram I sent to Latakia on Sunday morning has returned to Antilias and has delivered a report on the mission.
Based on the report, 2,000 Armenians have left Kesab and have taken shelter in the church and school of Latakia, and some are staying with their relatives. The community’s corresponding bodies are following the Armenians and providing them with food and hygiene. The International Committee of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent of Syria are also providing assistance.
The members of the delegation sent to Latakia served a mass on Sunday morning and expressed the concern and support of His Holiness to the Armenians, after which they had meetings with the corresponding bodies of the church and community and established contacts with the local Armenians.
The Supreme Patriarch is closely following the situation in Latakia and Kesab and is in contact with the representatives. In case of need, the Information Office of the Catholicosate will transfer necessary information to the local Armenians, reports the Catholicosate of Cilicia.
