Armenia’s judoists to participate in Grand Prix in Samsun
On Mar. 28, Armenia’s six judoists will participate in the Grand Prix International Judo Tournament kicking off in the Turkish city of Samsun after having participated in the same tournament in Tbilisi.
As reported by “ArmenPress”, Armenia’s judoists are already in the Georgian city of Gori where they will train and leave for Samsun.
As chief coach of Armenia’s judo team Tigran Babayan told “ArmenPress”, by participating in the Grand Prix tournaments, Armenia’s athletes are preparing for the European Judo Championship to be held in the French city of Montpelier in April.
In regard to the Armenian judoists’ unsuccessful matches in Tbilisi, Babayan stressed the fact that it was more of a psychological issue.
“Armenia’s judoists always participate in the trainings, and there’s no problem. The fact that the athletes lack the necessary practice that doesn’t allow them to show their full potential is another story,” said Babayan.
Talking about the European championship, Babayan mentioned that 4-5 Armenian judoists are expected to participate in the championship.
