Junior chess player Ara Martirosyan wins Czech Junior Chess Championship

Ara Martirosyan, 11, won the up-to 12-year old boys’ chess championship at the finals for the Czech Junior Chess Championship. Martirosyan was born in Yerevan and lives in the Czech Republic.

Ara scored four victories, tied five matches and didn’t suffer any defeat. Out of the 9 possible points, Martirosyan scored 6.5 points and ended the tournament with a brilliant victory and scored a gold medal.
Ara Martirosyan has won second place in the up-to 10-year olds group at the same championship for two years in a row. Currently, the Armenian chess player has the chance to represent the Czech Republic at the European and world chess championships.
