China’s song and dance ensemble of persons with limited abilities performed in Armenia for the first time ever.

On Mar. 12, the ensemble presented the “My Dream” series of songs and dances mixed with unique combinations of opera and dance at Hakob Paronyan State Musical Comedy Theater. The event was held within the scope of the 2012-16 Program for Cultural Cooperation signed between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China.

RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan, Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Tian Changchun, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hermine Naghdalyan, the wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nalbandyan, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the embassies of different countries and other guests of honor honored the event with their presence.

“I would like to thank the RA Ministry of Culture and those who organized this event.

China pays a lot of attention to persons with limited abilities. In the past couple of years, several disabled persons are recovering. Our ensemble was founded in 1987, performs in different countries and is greeted with rounds of applause,” said China’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Tian Changchun, according to “ArmenPress”. RA Deputy Minister of Culture Nerses Ter-Vardanyan underlined the fact that the Armenian-Chinese relations have a long history and attached importance to the cooperation between the two countries. “Today, China and Armenia hold culture days in both countries, organize programs and exhibitions, and this event is one of the manifestations of that cooperation,” said Ter-Vardanyan.

During the event, the song and dance ensemble of persons with limited abilities touched the Armenian audience with its performances and surprised the audience by performing Rita Sargsyan’s song “Arev Enq Miasin” (We are a Sun Together), which was followed by endless rounds of applause.

In 1987, 30 persons with limited abilities had the opportunity to participate in the first Chinese cultural festival and established the performing arts group of the disabled in China. The song and dance ensemble of persons with limited abilities in China is a unique ensemble with more than 150 performances in different countries around the world.
