Young weightlifters of Gyumri and Ararat shone at championship in Armenia

The Armenian boys’ and girls’ weightlifting championship in Vanadzor has drawn to an end.

As reported by “ArmenPress”, the girls from Ararat shone in the girls’ tournament, and three of them, including Luiza Sahradyan (44 kg), Ani Vardazaryan (53 kg) and Hermine Yeghizaryan (58 kg), scored victories.

Representatives of Kasakh Sona Poghosyan (69 kg) and Arpine Dallakyan (more than 69 kg) also won, and Rosalia Avetisyan was the best in the 63 kg weight category.

The athletes from Gyumri stood out. Among them were Hamlet Mnatsakanyan (50 kg), Nikolay Poghosyan (69 kg), Aren Mkrtchyan (77 kg), Manvel Gasparyan (85 kg), Hovhannes Avdalyan (94 kg) and Slavik Janoyan (94 kg and more).

Levon Manukyan from Yerevan on in the 50 kg weight category, and David Abrahamyan from Samaghar won in the 62 kg weight category. As reported by the Armenian Weightlifting Federation, the boys’ and girls’ weightlifting teams are preparing for the European Weightlifting Championship of the boys’ and girls’ groups to be held in Poland from April 28th to May 3rd.
