Armenian FM meets with President of Swiss Confederation

On Mar. 6, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan, who is on a working visit to Geneva, had a meeting with President of the Swiss Confederation, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE Didier Burkhalter.

Armenia’s foreign minister transmitted the greetings and address of RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the high level political dialogue, the dynamic development of the multifaceted cooperation and discussed issues on expanding and deepening relations. Special importance was attached to steps aimed at promoting cooperation in trade and economy.

The President of Switzerland and Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs exchanged views on the OSCE agenda and the initiatives of the Swiss presidency.

Minister Nalbandyan presented President Burkhalter with Armenia’s and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this context, Didier Burkhalter reaffirmed support to the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon Didier Burkhalter’s visit to Armenia in June. The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
