Book presentation in New York

Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte’s book was presented under the patronage of Armenia’s Permanent Representation to the United Nations at the AGBU Headquarters in New York on Feb. 27.

The book Nowhere: A Story of Exile presents the author’s life story and her memories of the crimes perpetrated against the Armenians in Baku. As a teenager, Anna witnesses tragic, horrible events, escapes from Azerbaijan with her family, becomes a refugee and is forced to start from scratch in the United States. The author talks about the heavy impact that those atrocities had on the survivors and all Armenians.

Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Karen Nazaryan highly appreciated the author’s unique work, attached importance to the author’s ongoing efforts aimed at raising public awareness in the United States and mentioned that the annual commemoration ceremonies serve as an opportunity to consolidate the potential of all Armenians for a goal-oriented and effective struggle against Azerbaijan’s “caviar diplomacy” and false propaganda.

Among the attendees were representatives of different community organizations, journalists, as well as young Armenian Americans and foreigners, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
