Reception dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces held at the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation
Recently, the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation held a solemn reception dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces. Among the participants were high-ranking officers of the Russian Armed Forces and state organizations, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation, as well as renowned Russian public and scientific figures.
The event began with welcoming remarks by RA Ambassador to the Russian Federation Oleg Yesayan, who touched upon the history of the Armenian Army and commemorated the heroes who defended the borders of the homeland. The RA Ambassador to the Russian Federation mentioned that the day of the formation of the Armenian army is a pan-national holiday that symbolizes the courage of Armenia’s soldiers, patriotism and the power of unity. “We can proudly say that the Republic of Armenia has come a long way in building the army and now has an army that is efficient and is up to date. It continues to be the guarantor of our safety,” the RA Ambassador said.
In his speech, Ambassador Yesayan also touched upon the importance of the Armenian-Russian military cooperation and major issues of concern.
Commemorative medals of the RA Ministry of Defense were presented during the event. Head of the Neurosurgical Department at N 15 hospital in Moscow S. Saribekyan was granted the Military Cooperation Medal of the RA Ministry of Defense, and Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces S. Pripazhni was granted the Anniversary Medal in light of the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Armed Forces, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
