New York high schools and colleges announce essay contest ahead of Armenian Genocide Centennial

High schools and colleges in New York have announced an essay contest for Armenian students in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. According to “ArmenPress”, the contest is being held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The winners will be selected by a professional jury on April 27th.
The first place winner will receive 300 dollars, and the second and third place winners will receive 200 dollars and 100 dollars respectively.
In their essays, the students must state what needs to be done for recognition of the Armenian Genocide ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial. The essay must have a maximum of 800 words.
