Armenian Genocide Centennial posters posted on Armenian churches in Aleppo
The Armenian Genocide Centennial Syria Central Committee has prepared special posters that have already been posted on the walls of Armenian churches, unions and other structures in Aleppo, as posted on the official website of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Syria Central Committee, according to “Armenpress”.
Earlier, the source had reported that on the evening of March 18th, the Armenian Genocide Centennial Syria Central Committee had held an extraordinary session with the leaders of the three Armenian communities of Syria, as well as representatives of Syrian-Armenian unions and organizations at Surenian Hall of the St. Mary Armenian Church of Aleppo and had decided to address a letter of gratitude to the President and Parliament of Syria for supporting the Armenians.
During a March 17 session, Speaker of the Parliament of Syria Muhammad Jihad al-Lahham had declared the following: “We express our absolute solidarity with the friendly Armenian people and the Armenians of Syria who were subject to collective genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire 100 years ago.” Afterwards, the parliamentary speaker had suggested standing up and respecting the memory of the 1.5 million Armenian victims of the painful events with a moment of silence.
