Gul touches upon Turkey’s plans ahead of Armenian Genocide Centennial
President of Turkey Abdullah Gul has talked about Turkey’s plans ahead of 2015 once again.
Gul attached importance to the years 2014 and 2015 during a press conference at the airport in Ankara following his official visit to Italy.
“Turkey will be facing serious difficulties at the international level. About four years ago, we thought we would be able to overcome these difficulties more easily with our good name and as a country with many friendly countries. Today, we are mainly involved with domestic issues that truly cause difficulties for us,” said Gul, adding that “the government conducted studies on this matter about four years ago, but the most important thing is for us to come to our senses, stand above all this and not create any problems for us”.
In closing, the President of Turkey said : “We have to remind the world what Turkey’s worth.”
