The meeting of the Rituals Committee of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church was held with the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia in Antilias on Jan. 29-30. Among the participants were Father, Archbishop Komitas Ohanyan (co-chair); Father, Bishop Arshak Khachatryan (co-chair); Father, Archbishop Varujan Herkelyan; Father, Archbishop Sepuh Sarkisian; Father, Archbishop Gegham Khacheryan; Father, Bishop Mikayel Ajapahyan; Father, Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan and Father, Archimandrite Zakaria Baghumyan.

During the meeting, the Committee, accepting as a basis the decisions taken by the Bishops’ Meeting held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in 2013, discussed and finalized the description and guidelines for the conduct of the Holy Baptism. The Committee also examined the issue of the language used during rituals. In relation to the instruction manual for preparation of the Holy Baptism, the Committee decided to continue modifying the manual and set the month of May as the deadline.

The next meeting of the Rituals Committee will be held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on May 19-23.
