By the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has released Archimandrite Zakaria Baghumyan’s book “Problem of the Undiluted Cup in the Armenian Church”, which is part of the series entitled “Scientific Heritage of the Holy Etchmiadzin”. For the first time ever, the book presents in detail a problem in rituals and theology, asking why the Armenian Church, unlike other Christian churches, doesn’t mix water in the cup during the Divine Liturgy.
The goal of the study is to see and show through the fathers, archimandrites of the Armenian Church and through the Holy Tradition how the Armenian Church has interpreted this or that holy place, what facts and arguments it has brought up to prove the Tradition of serving the liturgy with dry wine.
The book is designed for theologians, Armenologists and readers at large.
The book was printed with a donation from the U.S. Western Diocese.
