On April 24, 2019, the “Associazione Armeni Apulia”, based in Bari, recalled the Armenian Genocide.
The Association is chaired by the Armenian-Italian merchant Rupen Timurian, deputy president is prof. Kegham Jamil Boloyan, professor of Arabic language and literature at the University of Salento (Lecce). Secretary is prof. Carlo Coppola a teacher Italian and Armenian citizen.

The Ceremony took place in front of the Khachkar of Bari, symbol of the Armenian presence in Apulia region. It was designed and sculpted in 2003 by the architect and professor Ashot Grigoryan, founding director of National museum-institute of architecture after Alexander Tamanyan of Yerevan.
