Nour Armenian School of Alfortville hosts year-end ceremony

June 6th marked the year-end ceremony of the students of Nour Armenian School of Alfortville. The ceremony began with opening remarks by founding Principal of Nour Armenian School Sona Sureken.
As reported the school to Hayern Aysor, the mission of Nour French-Armenian Union and the homonymous school is to preserve the Armenian identity, that is, to provide Armenian children with an Armenian upbringing and introduce them to Armenian history and culture.
Throughout the school year, the students of Nour Armenian School learned the golden Armenian alphabet, learned the secrets of painting and were introduced to sculpting, history, literature, native studies and several other subjects. The creator of this curriculum is Principal of Nour Armenian School, teacher Sona Sureken, who did everything possible to make sure the school operates and Armenian children know the letters and learn the mother language.
The children’s parents were content and were pleased to mention the fact that there has never been an Armenians school in Alfortville where they can feel the air of Armenia and Armenians.
Krikor Sureken, whose financial contribution helped establish the school and thanks to which the school is operating, expressed gratitude to the attendees and the school’s volunteers, including Nareh Tadevosyan, Alexan Hyerikyan and Marine Hakobyan, who put their time and effort to contribute to the school’s regular activities.
During the school year, the students also participated in the “Free Artsakh” competition announced by the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and the 8th Pan-Armenian Children’s Painting Competition-Festival organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia and held under the title “The 12 Capitals of Armenia”.
The school also continues to operate in the French cities of Arnouville and Le Plessis-Robinson and awaits the new school year with a new teaching staff.
