Event dedicated to 100th anniversary of First Republic of Armenia held in Cairo

On June 3, the Cairo Opera House hosted a classical music concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia. The concert was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Egypt and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Egypt and the Armenian Prelacy of Cairo.
Among the participants of the event were First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Hamdi Loza, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign ambassadors and diplomats, representatives of public and cultural circles and Egyptian-Armenians.
In his opening remarks, RA Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melkonyan presented the symbol of the day, the road to establishing the First Republic of Armenia and the heroic battles of the Armenian nation, as well as their importance in the establishment of Armenian statehood. Ambassador Melkonyan also touched upon the current stage of Armenian-Egyptian relations.
The concert featured performances of the works of Armenian and international composers by soloists of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet of Armenia, Merited Artists of the Republic of Armenia Nune Badalyan and Sargis Aghamalyan and pianist Ela Melik-Husyan.
