Colorado has a new Sardarapat Armenian Memorial Highway

Ahead of the 100th year anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia, one of the major highways of the State of Colorado has been renamed as Sardarapat Armenian Memorial Highway.

The House of Representatives and Senate of the State of Colorado jointly passed Resolution 18-1019 during the sessions held on 24 and 25 April, respectively.

“With pleasure and in solidarity, we dedicate this crazy, yet successful project of the Armenian National Committee of Colorado and the Armenians Organization of Colorado (the creation of the Sardarapat Armenian Memorial Highway) to the heroes of the Republic of Armenia of our days, that is, our fearless and peace-loving demonstrators, who want to be free and are shaping a just and democratic Armenia,” wrote member of the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region Simon Maghakian  on his Facebook page, according to azatutyun.am.
