Young Russian-Armenian to be involved in nature protection after repatriation

Social advertisement specialist Haik Gevorgyan was born in the Vaghashen village of the city of Martuni of Gegharkunik Province. In 1992, he and his family left the homeland and moved to the Russian city of Orenburg.

However, he did not become detached from his roots by any means. He would always visit Armenia and especially his native village and meet with his relatives in the summers.

Recently, Haik started doing community service since he wanted to help strengthen his community’s bonds with the homeland through community service.

“The Eurasia youth NGO carries out various activities with young Armenians and foreigners and is mainly focused on environmental issues,” Haik Gevorgyan told Hayern Aysor, adding that he took the appropriate technical equipment from the municipality of Orenburg without any problems and is now trying to clean the garbage in Orenburg. The organization also announces open house day events during which the members discuss their future actions. The organization has two attorneys, and Armenian children spend their summer vacation at a camp.

Haik has decided to repatriate to Armenia, and this is why he has come to Armenia to examine the current situation and the opportunities. He wants to do his best to help build the homeland and ensure its progress after repatriating.

“We young Armenians need to come together to help Armenia develop and feel the support of the government. After repatriating, I want to focus on nature protection in the beginning. One of my first plans is to clean the coastal areas of Lake Sevan since people sometimes forget to clean up after spending their time in those areas. As a result, a lot of garbage is left there,” Haik Gevorgyan stated.
