Armenian cross-stone to be unveiled at Holy Spirit Church in Amsterdam

On April 21, a cross-stone dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide will be unveiled at the Holy Spirit Armenian Apostolic Church in Amsterdam. Several Dutch presses, particularly HET PAROOL and AT5/NU.n have already reported the news about the unveiling.

The placement of the cross-stone is the initiative of the St. Gregory of Narek Foundation of Amsterdam and will be held with the support of several non-governmental organizations of the Netherlands, as well as through the financial assistance of the Armenian community of the Netherlands, all Armenians around the world and Dutchmen. Preparations were launched in close collaboration with the Holy Spirit Armenian Church.

Among the guests of the unveiling ceremony will be Dutch public, political and cultural figures, as well as officials from Armenia. The Armenians of Amsterdam and the Armenian community of the Netherlands are expected to show active participation in the event.

“We are certain that the placement of the cross-stone in Amsterdam, which is one of the centers for culture and intelligentsia in Europe, will serve as an expression of the soul of many generations of the Armenian community and will provide them with the opportunity to pay their respects to the canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide in a city that symbolizes the love for freedom, as well as tolerance,” the statement of the board of the St. Gregory of Narek Foundation reads.
