On March 30, the 4^th-5^th graders of Hrant Dink School of Istanbul participated in an Easter event held at the initiative of the School’s performing arts teacher Harutioun Kevorkian, teachers Donara Bebourian and Narine Soghomonian and Lusine Harutyunyan. The event began with a speech by Father Shirvan, who explained the symbol of Easter to the attendees and particularly the schoolchildren once again and said that Christ is the light and that that light has to ��?live’ within them. Through a play, the schoolchildren presented the Resurrection of Christ, after which they interpreted the holiday, recited poems, performed songs and dances and played a game. The festive mood and the traditional table for Easter, which was set by the schoolchildren’s mothers, conveyed a unique charm. Principal of Hrant Dink School Heriknaz Avakian congratulated the schoolchildren and teachers who, in spite of the dire conditions of the school building, accomplish their mission with honor and pleasure every time. There were also gifts prepared by trustees, Mr. and Mrs. Horozoglus, and the Horozoglus and their son, Karot distributed the gifts to the schoolchildren. May the symbol of Easter be interpreted by Armenian families and may we be worthy of the love and piety of the living God.
