According to Hayern Aysor, on February 28, on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the Sumgait Pogroms, Co-Chairs of the “April 24^th” Committee of the French city of Valence Krikor Amirzaian, Georges Rastklan and Georges Isachian, as well as the Committee’s members Georges Yeretsian, Khosrov Ilioser and Nazo Jinbashian organized a candlelighting ceremony and laid flowers at the monument to the canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.

In an interview with the French Le Dauphiné Libér Daily, Krikor Amirzaian stressed the fact that the Armenian people have been waiting for a fair solution to this issue for 30 consecutive years, demanding an appropriate evaluation by the international community and punishment for those who organized the Armenian pogroms.
