Meeting with Diaspora Armenian students

On February 22, the Armenian State University of Economics hosted a meeting with the Diaspora Armenian students of the University. Among the attendees were Deputy Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Melikyan, Head of the Department of All-Armenian Programs at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Gagik Gyanjumyan, Rector of the Armenian State University of Economics Koryun Atoyan, President of the Student Council Hovhannes Harutyunyan and founder of the Diaspora Armenian Students’ Council (DASC) and president of the Council’s board of trustees Samvel Mkoyan.

As reported the DASC News and Public Relations Officer Arpi Petrosyan to Hayern Aysor, Samvel Mkoyan presented the activities that the DASC has been carrying out since 2010. Throughout the years, the DASC has held over 300 programs, courses, seminars, meetings with cultural figures, concerts and many other events.

During the meeting, the students talked about the hardships that they have faced in the course of studies. Melikyan and Atoyan stated that the students can address them with any issue so that the issues can be solved as soon as possible. “We have always tried to help all students with any issue, but from now on, we will work more consistently to solve the issues of Diaspora Armenian students,” President of the Student Council of the Armenian State University of Economics Hovhannes Harutyunyan said.

This was the first meeting of the representatives of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Diaspora Armenian Students’ Council with Diaspora Armenian students this year. There will also be meetings with the students of all universities in Armenia.
