Los Angeles to host conference dedicated to 400th anniversary of arrival of Martin the Armenian to the United States
On March 16, Doctor of Historical Sciences Hayk Demoyan will take part in a conference devoted to the centuries-old Armenian-American heritage under the title “Celebration of 400 Years of Armenian-American Heritage, 1618-2018” at Ararat Home of the George Deukmejian Community Center in Los Angeles. Hayk Demoyan is one of the key supporters of the conference and exhibition.
Hayern Aysor, citing the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, reports that there will also be a special exhibition featuring precious items and historic artifacts (samples of material culture-H.A.) showing Armenian-American ties and taken from the Ararat-Eskijian Museum and Hayk Demoyan’s private collection.
This conference, which is dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first Armenian to arrive in the United States — Martin the Armenian (Virginia, 1618), will present the remarkable achievements made throughout the history of the Armenian American community and the Armenian-American heritage.
