Hranush Hakobyan: “The Armenian language is the most precious treasure in the treasury of the Armenian people”
On February 21, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan participated in a storytelling event hosted in the Fairy Tales Hall of Khnko Apor National Children’s Library as part of the 14th Yerevan Children’s Book Fair.
The Minister of Diaspora had a meeting with the third- and fourth-grade students of Martiros Saryan School #86 of Yerevan, talked about the mother language and listened to the students as they shared their concerns about the purity of the Armenian language. She admired the children’s multifaceted knowledge of the Armenian language. The children recited poems devoted to the Armenian language.
“The Armenian language is the most precious treasure in the treasury of the Armenian people, and it is the duty of each and every one of us to protect and preserve the language and help it evolve,” the Minister said.
Afterwards, at the children’s request, Minister Hranush Hakobyan read Hovhannes Tumanyan’s works for children.
The Minister urged the children to study hard, but have a special love for and take care of the mother language, listen to their parents’ words of advice and become good people, good specialists, good sons and good Armenians.
