Meeting of Supreme Spiritual Council kicks off at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On February 20, under the chairmanship of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council kicked off in a wide-format at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

The Meeting began with the Lord’s Prayer, after which the Catholicos of All Armenians gave his blessing and expressed his appreciation to the secular and mundane members of the Supreme Spiritual Council. The Supreme Patriarch asked the Lord for the Meeting to be successful so that they can make helpful decisions regarding the presented issues under the leadership of the Holy Spirit in order to foster the mission of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church.

The agenda includes several pan-national and church-related issues. In particular, the participants will discuss issues related to the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, the effectiveness of governance of the Armenian Church, the celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and the May Heroic Battles and the reinforcement of the mission of advocacy among young people. The newsletter regarding the activities of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and Dioceses of the past year will also be presented during the four-day Meeting.
