Barcelona to host conference dedicated to 30th anniversary of Artsakh Movement
The year marks the 30th anniversary of the Artsakh Movement. This process was a peaceful process that was being carried out within the scope of the Constitution of the former USSR, but the authorities of Azerbaijan twisted things around. Peaceful Armenian civilians were brutally killed in Sumgait and other cities of Soviet Azerbaijan, while some left all of their belongings and left the country. The war that Azerbaijan imposed on Artsakh in 1991 ended with a ceasefire in 1994, but the Azerbaijani authorities continue to violate that ceasefire to this day.
As report the organizers of the event to be held in Barcelona to Hayern Aysor, the Armenian Cultural Society of Barcelona, in partnership with the Center for National Minorities (CIEMEN), is organizing a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Artsakh Movement on February 20.
The conference will feature speeches by journalist and head of VilaWeb media outlet Vicent Partal and political scientist and post-Soviet regional analyst Abel Riu. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Spain Avet Adonts will honor the event with his presence and give a speech.
The conference will be held on February 20 at 19:30 at the Center for National Minorities (address: Carrer de Rocafort, 242 bis, 2n Barcelona).
