Guided by the Prime Minister’s assignments

On February 14, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan held a consultation over the meeting held by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and the assignments given by the Prime Minister the day before.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan and the Ministry’s employees attached special importance to Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan’s evaluation of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry for preservation of the Armenian identity, preservation of the Armenian identity in the Diaspora and increase of the level of Armenian language proficiency in the Diaspora and strengthening of historical memory among young Diaspora Armenians and considered the evaluation binding.

The Minister of Diaspora touched upon the Prime Minister’s evaluation of the activities carried out by the Ministry and the raised issues that were related to the key issues, the solutions to which can help raise the level of effectiveness of the Ministry’s activities. The Minister stated that, upon the assignment of the Prime Minister, it is necessary to make the activities with other government agencies more coordinated and interconnected and be consistent with the development and improvement of the sectors that the Prime Minister deemed to be important and a good opportunity for economic development, engagement of investments, repatriation and consolidation of the potential of professionals.

The Minister assigned the employees to work more actively in the specified sectors, develop new mechanisms, plans and a strategy, submit proposals for regulation of the activities being carried out with inter-agency structures, help open the branches of professional associations along with pan-Armenian, ecclesiastical and other organizations, work actively for the repatriation of professionals and develop programs for advocating investments, tourism and repatriation.
