Gladys Berejiklian: “My family is grateful to Australia”

Premier of New South Wales Gladys Berejiklian has said that her Armenian family has great respect towards and is very grateful to Australia and the national emblems of that country.

“My father still raises the Australian national flag in our yard every day. As a former Armenian migrant, this is an opportunity for him to say thanks to the country that received him,” The Australian cites Berejiklian’s words, reports Rusarminfo.ru. The Australian has published parts from her speech in which she talks about why it is so important to celebrate January 26th as Australia Day in New South Wales.

Gladys Berejiklian also emphasized that she and her sister grew up in a family where they always took pride in their Armenian roots and were extremely grateful for the opportunity to live in peace and the good life in Australia.
