“A New Life Ahead…”
A New Life Ahead…This is the title of the charity concert that Syrian-Armenian artists and artists from Armenia will give at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on Dec. 20 at 18:00. The concert organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora will feature performances of the songs of Arno Babajanyan, Gabriel Yeranyan, Ashot Satyan, Gusan (troubadour) Haykazun and Syrian-Armenian composer Sarkis Adamian by Shushan Petrosyan, Arman Nshanyan, Hovhannes Mubayegh’s Classical Quartet, Syrian-Armenians Tsoler Karagulian, Arax Mahdessian, Mary Arabadjian and Sarkis Tufenkchian, “Haykazunk” and “Zangakner” Ensembles and “Sharavigh” Children’s Choir. The concert will include poetry readings and dance numbers.
As Head of the Department for Armenian Communities in the Near East and the Middle East at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Lusine Stepanyan told “Hayern Aysor”, this is the third concert that the RA Ministry of Diaspora is organizing for the Syrian-Armenians who have settled in Armenia following the first and second concerts held in October 2012 and May 2013.
At 17:00, there will be a charity fair called “Breath of Syrian-Armenian Culture in Yerevan”, which will set everyone at the vestibule of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in a festive mood ahead of the New Year.
“Syrian-Armenian women living in Armenia are mainly unemployed. This charity fair will give them the opportunity to express themselves and earn money at the same time,” mentioned Lusine Stepanyan.
Nearly 40 Syrian-Armenians will showcase their hand-made items and pastry at the charity fair.
By mutual agreement, some proceeds will be donated to construction of the “New Aleppo” district.
Entrance is free. The RA Ministry of Diaspora invites everyone to attend.
