Children of Akhalkalak receive gifts from ARS Georgia

Children of needy families of Akhalkalak received gifts (clothes and sweets) during a New Year’s event organized by the Armenian Relief Society Georgia Chapter and hosted at the Armenian Youth, Educational and Cultural Center of Akhalkalak.

Before the gifts were handed to the children, the organizers ensured their entertainment through songs and dances.

In an interview, Chairwoman of ARS Georgia Karine Tadevosyan informed that the ARS New Year Program is an annual program that is mainly organized for orphans, children of needy families and children suffering from diseases. The scope of the event is wider and reaches out to the cities of Ninotsminda, Akhaltskha and Batumi as well. Karine Tadevosyan added that the church showed its support, just like in previous years.

Among the attendees was Pastor of the Holy Cross Armenian Church of Akhalkalak, Fr. Priest Tatev Marukyan. In his speech, he stated that in addition to the gifts and sweets for the children, the church also gives its blessing to the children and that the more important part of the event is the unified prayer said with the children. Priest Tatev Marukyan added that the church also participates in various events that are held in different villages of Javakhk.

The children who received gifts today are always in need of attention and every small gift can turn their day into a day of celebration.
